Borjomi: a guide
Borjomi: the park, the water, and when it is worth going.
Borjomi is a spa town known for its mineral water, in a wooded valley two hours from Tbilisi. It is often combined with Bakuriani in the same trip.
When to go
- ·May to October is pleasant, the park is green and the forest is at its best.
- ·In summer people from Tbilisi come here to escape the heat. July is busy.
- ·Winter is quiet and many of the sanatoriums stay open.
Getting there
- ·By train from Tbilisi, four hours, slow and scenic.
- ·By marshrutka from Didube, two hours, about 12 GEL.

Worth doing
- ·The central park and the Ekaterine spring.

One thing worth knowing
There are free sulphur baths deeper into the park, about forty minutes' walk in. Take a towel.
